Friend Blogs

Some of you may like this site. I assume this is true if you are here reading this, and for that, I thank you. Even if you don't like it and are reading it just to be angry, I still thank you because you're helping increase the overall web traffic I get. That being said, although my blog may be entertaining and awesome, it is by no means the only one. There are others, and thankfully, Ive had the opportunity of meeting some of these people (which, just like their sites, happened to be amazing as well). Some like to tell stories, others go to places even more bizarre than I, one travels with a dog, and another makes incredible videos. So, without further ado, here are some friend travel bloggers I've made along the way. Check out their sites!

Pete

I first met Pete in Tbilisi, Georgia. He came across as another friendly, relaxed, interesting traveler, but with one notable exception: his video camera. This device he carried wasn't a cheap tourist camera, nor was it a small one for making a few keepsake photos. Instead, Pete had a full, modern, up to date camera like the type you would see in a film studio. I don't how how it is possible, but with his camera, Pete is able to capture the essence and feeling of a place better than any travel agency or tourist company could ever dream of. I can try to describe these films, but words cannot give them justice. Each film I saw, though, made me feel almost as if I was there and as if I was interacting and exploring the environment portrayed. He was able to capture the natural beauty, urban energy, vibrant culture and unique subtitles all together at once. Check out the travel site he founded and watch the videos. They're awesome!

Conan

I met Conan soon after I arrived in Moscow to start working as an English Teacher. Having already taught there for a year, Conan was a seasoned expert that helped mentor confused novices such as myself. On top of that, he hosted a house-warming get together right away to help all of us get to know each other and establish a group of friends within our newly adopted city. Now, well into his fourth year, Conan still teaches (albeit for a different school) and is by all means an expert when it comes to the Russian capital. Likewise, he has a pretty extensive travel blog that has tons of info and articles about all the little details and interesting features Moscow has to offer, as well as a few stories from other places such as Estonia, Iceland, and several of the Balkan States. If you're planning to go to Moscow (or Russia for that matter) I highly recommend you check out what he has to say. And even if you don't have any such plans, read about his awesome stories and adventures anyway by clicking on the button below.

Ben

Ben started his journey in his home country, Germany, with the idea of driving around the world. His means of transportation was the front of an old firetruck that he had converted into a caravan by putting a bed and fridge inside. And although this was his new home, Ben chose to keep the doors open (quite literally) by putting his car up online as a host for couch surfing. Therefore, whenever he stopped in a city, any other traveler looking for some shelter was welcomed in. Most just stayed for a night before continuing on, but one decided to stay permanently. That guest was a dog named Ella. Now you can follow along as they continue their journey by reading Ben's blog. Click on the button below to be directed to his site.

Cate

I met Cate in Tbilisi, Georgia as she was in the middle of a motorbike trip across Asia and into Europe. And yes, I know that trip does sound awesome, but I can assure you that is pales in comparison to the awesomeness of Cate as a person. Whether it be crossing the entire length of the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan alone, confronting jerks at a bar, or bringing forward personality unlike any other, Cate was second to none. Anyway, instead of hearing this from me, I'll forward you to her blog which is dedicated to the motorbike trip and is full of tales of adventure, wanderlust, excitement, joy and tragedy. Please enjoy!

Side note: The blog is in German, so if you're like me and can't understand the language, you can still be mesmerized by the amazing pictures of some of the most remote places on Earth.
