Another awesome Uzbekistan photo album not taken by me. Once more, this is courtesy our photography contributor Daniel Gandini from his visit during the Spring of 2018. These were of ancient fortresses called Guldursun-Kala, Ayaz-Kala, Toprak-Kala, and Kizil-Kala. My guess is that the word ‘kala’ means fortress or something along those lines. They all look pretty awe inspiring and make me want to pay for the $160 visa and go there (why must money be so cruel and numerous). Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
